About the Role

The primary focus of the role is to safeguard Dubai Duty Free property by implementing the department policy and procedures as well as to study/analyze the shrinkage report and implement preventive measures accordingly.

 Key duties of the role includes the following:

  • Actively enforce preventive measures on pilferages through constant vigilance and through monitoring the CCTV System.

  • Prevent resources from being subject to theft, misuse, abuse, or any other circumstances that lead to an act of unlawful interferences.

  • Review, monitor, and control the removal and the internal transfer of stocks, cash, equipment’s & material within premises and report all incidents and irregularities to superiors.

  • Control and assess the activity on the shop floor to prevent theft, violence, and violation of rules.

  • Perform a periodic review of POS transactions to detect the irregularities.

  • Check DDF staff purchases, arrange and keep in designated place, and distribute accordingly.

  • Ensure that all employees are aware of the company Loss prevention Procedures, by disseminating information thru proper channels.

  • Ensure all lost and found items are handled according to the department standard procedures.

  • Control the random staff frisking as per the department standard procedures.

  • Ensure all the necessary reports on any relevant incident are documented properly.

  • Ensure that sufficient evidence is gathered prior to action being taken against perpetrators of theft.

  • Maintain professional approach when apprehending suspects.

  • Apprehend culprit with the approval of the superior and as per the dept. guidelines.

  • Ensure the legal framework is followed when dealing with theft crimes.

  • Coordinate with DDF outsourced security personnel on a daily basis especially during apprehension.

  • Coordinate action with the police and any concerned authorities and provide the concerned authorities with all the necessary evidence /statements as and when needed.

  • Liaise with operation to check and highlight the risk factors behind shortages which are highlighted in the shrinkage report.

  • Coordinate with concerned department to facilitate the operational requirements.

  • Regular backup inspection to be conducted as per the assignment scheduled by superiors.

  • Operational Policies & Procedures - understanding of the Standard Operating Procedure and rules imposed in operations.

  • Computer Proficient - proficient in MS Office and other internal systems including basic computer hardware operations and electronic surveillance equipment to monitor activities.

  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree preferably relating to security field.

  • Previous experience in a related field is an advantage.

  • Trained and/or experienced in CCTV operation, Fire Safety and/or First Aid is highly preferable.

  • Physically fit

Terms & Conditions

If selected for this position, you will be required to:

  • Be active and standing for long periods of time.

  • Work on shifts including night shifts with constant rotation of assigned area.

  • Work in different locations within the Dubai Duty Free operations (Staff Accommodation, DDF Head Office, DDF Shop Floor).

  • Wear corporate uniform.

  • Submit attested Birth Certificate & School Certificate.

  • Successful candidates who have resided/visited the UAE will be required to submit a Dubai Police Clearance Certificate.
